Role of adenosine receptors and the consumption of their antagonist caffeine in cortical neuronal migration – lateralization in brain development.

Overview

Project Summary

Characterization of the role of adenosine receptors and of different patterns of consumption of their antagonist, caffeine, in the tangential and radial migration of cortical neurons  during corticogenesis, their impact in the development of cortical cytoarchitecture/circuitry in an hemisphere-specific manner, and the outcome to brain function. Consolidation of a lateralization not only in brain function, but also in brain development.
