September is the month to welcome new members to the Center for Neurosciences and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra (CNC-UC) with another edition of the “Welcome Day”. The initiative will take place on the 29th, at the UC-Biotech facilities, in Cantanhede. The main objective of the initiative is to promote the integration of new elements in the community and facilitate the adaptation to the new spaces and equipment of the center.
 
The welcome event starts at 2 pm, with Luís Pereira de Almeida, president of CNC-UC. This is followed by sessions on the functioning of the centre, namely on scientific platforms, laboratories and their lines of research, as well as on the Technology Transfer and Science Communication projects. Information about advanced courses offered by CNC-UC, initiatives such as GreenLabs and safety and health in the laboratory will also be shared.
 
In addition to the formal sessions, the event will feature a scientific illustration workshop , “Illustrate your Project”, and ends with an informal moment, “Beer for Thought”, where researchers and collaborators can exchange impressions in a relaxed way.
