Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry Laboratory

The Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry Laboratory is specialized in the identification and quantification of different compounds (proteins, drugs, metabolites) from several matrices. It is mainly focused on running R&D projects with partners and collaborators in national and international projects. A top mass spectrometry lab (at the CNC/UC-Biotech site) with 1D- and 2D- liquid chromatography systems coupled to a two hybrid tandem mass spectrometer. The lab integrates the National Mass Spectrometry Network (RNEM) of the RNIE, which in turn is a member of the Instruct ERIC. In 2014, the Laboratory became an international reference lab for Sciex, the world leading company in mass spectrometry, providing research partnerships and services in proteomics, metabolomics, and targeted analysis of small molecules for many regular external entities. The major strengths of the lab are the tailor-made research adapted to partner/client needs. The Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry Lab (LSMS) is NP EN ISO 9001:2015 certified (registry number PT-2011/CEP.3971, by APCER).
